KIEV, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese legislator Wang Zhaoguo and Ukrainian parliament speaker Vladimir Lytvyn held talks here on Monday, vowing to strengthen cooperation between the two sides.
Wang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the top Chinese legislature, said that China is ready to further strengthen bilateral political exchanges and expand pragmatic cooperation with Ukraine in various fields.
Wang noted that parliamentary exchanges are an important part of state relations, saying that the NPC is willing to make joint efforts with the Ukrainian parliament to strengthen bilateral ties.
For his part, Lytvyn said the Ukrainian parliament is also willing to strengthen friendly ties with the Chinese side.
Wang is on a three-country Europe trip, which will also take him to Ireland and Poland.
