BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Wang Zhaoguo, chairman of the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), met Tuesday in Beijing with 32 leaders of trade unions from 13 French-speaking African countries.
The visiting union leaders are in China to attend a workshop hosted by the ACFTU to discuss ways to cope with the impact of the global economic crisis on workers.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, briefed the guests on the ACFTU's efforts to weather the downturn, including promoting employment, carrying out collective wage consultations and building labor unions.
Secretary General of Togo's National Confederation Palanga Agui expressed appreciation for China's efforts to protect workers' rights, saying they hoped to learn from China's development experience.
The two-day workshop will conclude Wednesday.
