MOSCOW, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese legislator Isma'il Tiliwaldi met Russian parliamentarians here on Thursday, with both sides vowing to deepen bilateral ties.
Isma'il Tiliwaldi, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, said Sino-Russian relations has maintained good momentum.
The visiting Chinese legislator held separate talks with Alexander Zhukov, first deputy speaker of the State Duma, or lower house of the parliament, and Svetlana Orlova, vice chairwoman of the Federation Council, or upper house of the parliament.
During their meetings, Isma'il Tiliwaldi called for closer cooperation between legislative bodies of the two countries.
China and Russia have deepened mutual trust and legislative cooperation recently, which led to effective coordination and cooperation between the two sides in the international arena, Isma 'il Tiliwaldi said.
Meanwhile, the scale and quality of China-Russia economic and trade cooperation have been increased and improved constantly, he added.
China vowed to fulfill the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, further promote mutual support, deepen bilateral cooperation, expand people-to-people exchanges, so as to push forward the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, Isma'il Tiliwaldi added.
Russian legislators highly praised the achievement of China's social development and economic growth, saying various Russian political parties and communities regard China as a good friend and partner.
The Russian Parliament was willing to make more efforts and play a more important role in promoting multi-layer cooperation between the two countries, said Russian legislators.
