ZAGREB, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Visiting senior Chinese legislator Ismail Tiliwaldi met with Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern Tuesday.
Tiliwaldi, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said bilateral relations had developed smoothly in the past 18 years since the two countries established diplomatic ties.
In recent years, senior officials from both countries had kept in close touch, and cooperation in fields like the economy and trade had progressed.
China appreciated Croatia's firm stance on the one-China policy, and cherished the traditional friendship with Croatia, said the legislator.
China hoped to strengthen the political dialogues with Coratia at all levels, including those between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and promote cooperation in all fields, in order to promote the comprehensive partnership of cooperation between China and Croatia, he said.
Josipovic congratulated China on holding a successful World Expo, and highly praised China for the great achivements it had made in the past three decades.
He said Croatia attached great importance to developing bilateral ties with China, adding that his country would always support the reunification of China and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields.
Tiliwaldi arrived here on Monday.
