Two NPC deputies expelled for law violations

Two deputies of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) were expelled on Tuesday after being accused of breaking the law.

The two lawmakers are Zhu Siyi, general manager of Yida Fuel Development Limited Co. Ltd. in south China's Guangdong Province, and Xie Bing, chairman of Miaodayi Meichu Food Co. Ltd. in southwest China's Sichuan province.

An NPC statement said Zhu was suspected of offering bribes, while Xie Bing was suspected of fraud, but no other details were given.

The report on their expulsions was adopted at the fifth session of the 11th NPC Standing Committee, which ended on Tuesday.

The expulsions leave the NPC with three empty seats after deputy Luo Jianping, head of People's Procuratorate of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, died on Sept. 27.
