XINING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Luo Huining was elected governor of northwest China's Qinghai Province Saturday.
Luo, born in October 1954, was elected to the post at the 3rd session of the 11th Qinghai Provincial People's Congress, the local legislative body.
Luo is a native of Yiwu, eastern Zhejiang Province, and he joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in March 1982.
He holds a doctoral degree in economics obtained from the Renmin University of China.
He had worked for more than 30 years in eastern Anhui Province as factory worker and government and CPC official.
He has been a deputy secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee since April 2003.
He was appointed vice governor and acting governor of Qinghai on Jan. 12 this year.
He is now an alternate member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
