XINING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Luo Huining was appointed as acting governor of northwest China's Qinghai Province on Tuesday at the 13th session of the Standing Committee of the 11th Qinghai Provincial People's Congress.
Luo, 55, took over the post from Song Xiuyan, whose resignation was approved by the provincial legislature also on Tuesday.
Song said in her written resignation: "I request to resign as Qinghai governor because of work transfer."
Born in Dangtu County in the eastern province of Anhui, Luo holds a PhD degree in economics. He has been a deputy secretary of the Qinghai provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) since 2003.
Luo was head of the publicity department of the CPC Anhui provincial committee between 1999 and 2003.
