Senior Chinese legislator leaves to visit Cuba and Brazil

BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Han Qide, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, left Beijing on Sunday for official good-will visits to Cuba and Brazil from Nov. 13 to 24.

Han, also president of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, is visiting as a guest of Jaime Crombet Hernandez-Baquero, vice president of the Cuban National Assembly of People's Power, and Marco Maia, president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Brazilian Parliament.

Han will also visit the Netherlands to attend the 21st Century China Conference, slated for November 26 in the Hague and organized by the Western Returned Scholars Association.
