SARAJEVO, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Chen Zhili, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), on Wednesday met with three key legislative leaders of Bosnia-Herzegovina to discuss parliamentary exchanges and other topics.
Chen, who is visiting Bosnia-Herzegovina, met with Nikola Lozancic, speaker of the House of Representatives; Milorad Zivkovic, vice speaker of the House; and Dusanka Majkic, vice speaker of the House of Peoples.
Chen said relations between China and Bosnia-Herzegovina have been steadily promoted in recent years and both countries have supported each other on issues concerning their respective core interests.
She said China supports Bosnia-Herzegovina's sovereignty and territorial integrity and appreciates the country's one-China policy. China understands Bosnia-Herzegovina's policy of joining European integration, she added.
Parliamentary exchanges, Chen said, play an important role in developing bilateral relations and pragmatic cooperation. The NPC attaches great importance to the parliamentary cooperation between China and Bosnia-Herzegovina and hoped to endeavor with Bosnia-Herzegovina to strengthen parliamentary exchanges and further bilateral relations, she said.
Lozancic said there is no obstacle in relations with China and Bosnia-Herzegovina is grateful for the assistance and support from China.
Lozancic reaffirmed Bosnia-Herzegovina's adherence to the one-China policy and hoped the two countries would expand exchanges and cooperation in all fields, especially economy and trade, and bring bilateral relations to higher levels.
