BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will pay a state visit to China from Jan. 25 to 28, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said Tuesday.
"China attaches great importance to her first state visit to China since taking office," Ma told a regular news briefing.
During her visit, Chinese President Hu Jintao would hold talks with her. Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao would also meet with her, Ma said.
Leaders of the two countries would have in-depth exchanges on deepening strategic partnership, broadening pragmatic cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual concern, Ma said.
The two sides would also sign a number of cooperation agreements.
"I believe her visit will give a boost to the already existing friendly cooperation and advance the China-Argentina strategic partnership," Ma said.
As Argentina's first elected female president, Fernandez took office in December 2007.
