Han Qide, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the national legislature, met here Tuesday with young politicians from the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Relations between China and the ROK had developed soundly since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1992, with frequent exchanges, collaboration, and smooth coordination in international and regional affairs, Han told the delegation.

"Exchanges between young Chinese and ROK politicians play an active role in promoting a long-lasting, stable and healthy strategic partnership between the two nations," Han said.

Echoing Han's remarks, Ooh Che-Chang, chief delegate and lawmaker from the ROK Democratic Party, said regular exchanges of young politicians would strengthen mutual understanding and communication.

Young ROK politicians would like to work with the Chinese to make further contributions to bilateral relations, Ooh said.

The delegation was invited by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
