Chen Zhili, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislative body, met here Monday with Vietnamese party chief Nong Duc Manh on bilateral ties and cooperation.
Manh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, said during the meeting that bilateral relations are enjoying sound development at present and leaders of the two countries have reached broad consensus on deepening bilateral relations.
He said to develop friendship and cooperation between the two countries serve the fundamental interests of both sides.
Chen said the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam has developed unceasingly.
She believed that with joint efforts, China and Vietnam will advance the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new high.
Chen also met with Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman NguyenPhu Trong on Monday. The two sides vowed to increase exchanges between NPC and Vietnamese National Assembly.
