Uyunqimg, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), has met with the leaders of the Venezuelan Congress to discuss bilateral relations and parliamentary exchanges.
Uyunqimg, who is leading an NPC delegation on a visit to Venezuela on July 16-19, has met with Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro, President of the Venezuelan Congress Cilia Flores and the congress' First Vice-President Saul Ortega for talks on bilateral ties, parliamentary exchanges and exchanges and cooperation between the ruling parties of the two countries. They also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
Both sides pledged to work to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields and enrich the strategic partnership between China and Venezuela.
The Venezuelan parliament leaders reaffirmed their adherence to the one-China policy and wished the upcoming Beijing Olympic Gamesa success.
Uyunqimg thanked the Venezuelan side for the assistance it has provided following the massive earthquake that hit southwest China in May.
