Wang Zhaoguo, a senior Chinese legislator, met here Wednesday with Yahya Bin Mahfoodh Bin Salim Al-Manthri, president of the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman, pledging to promote cooperation between the two parliaments.
"We attaches great importance to the friendly exchanges with the State Council of Oman," said Wang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).
"The NPC is ready to continue to develop exchanges and cooperation at various levels, through various channels and in an all-round way, with the State Council of Oman, particularly on state governance, legislation and supervision, and further promote coordination in international parliamentary organizations," said Wang.
Mahfoodh said the State Council of Oman will make more efforts to further develop the traditional friendship between Oman and China.
Mahfoodh headed a delegation to visit China from Sept. 4 to 10 at the invitation of Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
