Third plenary meeting held by the 31st session of the NPC Standing Committee

Third plenary meeting was held by the 31st session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on December 28, 2007. Chairman Wu Bangguo was present at the meeting and Vice-chairwoman He Luli chaired it.

Present at the meeting, members of the Standing Committee heard reports on the results of deliberation of deputies’ bills that were assigned by the Presidium of the Fifth Session of the Tenth National People’s Congress to the NPC Ethnic Affairs Committee, Law Committee, and Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee for deliberation.

They also listened to the report submitted by the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on handling of the deputies’ suggestions, criticisms and comments given at the Fifth Session of the Tenth National People’s Congress and the report submitted by the State Development and Reform Commission on handling of the deputies’ suggestions, criticisms and comments given at the Fifth Session of the Tenth National People’s Congress.

Yang Jingyu, chairman of the Law Committee, delivered a report on the results of deliberation of the draft laws.
