China's top legislature approved Thursday the removal of two officials, one the former mayor of south China's Shenzhen City, from their posts as deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) for "serious violations of discipline."
Xu Zongheng, 54, was removed from his post of Shenzhen mayor for "serious disciplinary violations" in June.
Liu Youjun, 46, was director of the Guangdong provincial department of labor and social security.
Their cases will be duly processed according to the law.
