President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China announced the appointments and removals from office the following ambassadors to foreign countries on March 30, 2005, in accordance with a decision made by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:
Removing from office Yang Jiechi,the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America; appointing Zhou Wenzhong the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America.
