President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China announced the appointments and removals from office the following ambassadors to foreign countries on March 29, 2005, in accordance with a decision made by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:
(1). Removing from office Zhang Yan, Permanent Representative and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Nations and other international organizations in Viena; appointing Wu Hailong Permanent Representative and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to United Nations and other international organizations in Viena.
(2). Removing from office Fan Zhenshui, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Gabon; appointing Xue Jinwei the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Gabon.
(3). Removing from office Cui Yongqian, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Congo; appointing Fan Zhenshui the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
(4). Removing from office Sun Zhaotong, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Niger; appointing Chen Gonglai the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Niger.
(5). Appointing Qian Hongshan the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Grenada.
