President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China announced the appointments and removals from office the following ambassadors to foreign countries on March 8, 2005, in accordance with a decision made by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:
(1). Removing from office Lu Shumin, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Indonesia; appointing Lan Lijun the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Indonesia.
(2). Removing from office Mei Ping, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada; appointing Lu Shumin the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada.
(3). Removing from office Wei Wei, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam; appointing Yang Yanyi the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam.
(4). Removing from office Zhao Huimin, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Qatar; appointing Li Jianying the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Qatar.
(5). Removing from office Chen Yuming, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Lithuania; appointing Yang Xiuping the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Lithuania.
(6). Removing from office Guan Chengyuan, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium; appointing Zhang Qiyue the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium.
(7). Removing from office Cheng Wendong, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy and the Republic of San Marino; appointing Dong Jinyi the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy and the Republic of San Marino.
