Chinese, ROK parliaments hold 6th meeting of regular exchange mechanism

  BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- China's National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (ROK) held the sixth meeting regarding their regular exchange mechanism Thursday.

  Chen Zhili, vice-chairwoman of the NPC Standing Committee, China's top legislature, and Chung Ui-hwa, deputy speaker of the ROK National Assembly, attended the meeting.

  In the meeting, the delegates exchanged views on bilateral relations, exchanges between the parliaments, construction of democracy and the rule of law, economic and trade cooperation, energy security and climate change, energy-saving and environment protection, and cultural exchanges. They also discussed international and regional issues of common concern.

  The NPC and ROK National Assembly launched the regular exchange mechanism in January 2006.
