Respect for human rights in the mouth of Dalai Lama
Posted: March-18-2009Adjust font size:

The issue of Tibet is often used as an excuse by the anti-Chinese movement in the western world. Recently the European Parliament and US House of Representatives passed similar resolutions over human rights in Tibet and the ousted spiritual leader Dalai Lama, and called on China to grant more freedom to Tibet and its people.

Ridiculously enough, most of the initiators and voters of the resolutions have never been to Tibet, and known nothing about Tibet’s history and present situation. They made the resolution based on the rumors and malicious propaganda by the Dalai Lama group that departs from the truth.

They usually based their understanding of Tibet on two sources: one is the reports of twisted facts by western media; the other is the false propaganda by Dalai Lama, Tibetan Youth Congress and Tibetan Women’s Association. The western anti-Chinese media and politicians, blinded by their arrogance and prejudice on socialism and the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) never trust the authorized information released by Central Government, local Tibetan government as well as academic institutions. They heavily rely on Dalai Lama’s propaganda and reports by western media, which is in line with their anti-China nature.

Dalai Lama said recently that Tibet is “hell on earth” under Chinese rule. His remark was echoed by anti-China media and politicians who have enormous publicity. Many people who have never been to Tibet are blinded by his speech. As a matter of fact, people who have been to Tibet and are not biased understand it is the Dalai Lama who has fabricated story to win western support.

Tibetans were freed from the feudal serfdom when Dalai Lama was exiled to neighboring India after a failed uprising in 1959. The system he vowed to maintain over a long period of time then and the “uniqueness of Tibet” he vows to preserve now are the “hell on earth”, the most barbaric and brutal in the world.

It is said that the facts speak louder than words. What kind of person is the Dalai Lama? Let’s get to know him. In early 1950s, the old Tibetan government held a birthday celebration for the Dalai Lama. The list of birthday offerings were: human intestine, two human heads, different types of human blood as well as a piece of human skin. Repeatedly saying to be a man who respects human rights, how could he explain the bloody birthday offering?

It is still he who, lobbying around the western world in his distinctive kasaya, asserts human rights in Tibet have been totally denied. However, some western media and politicians hoped to make full use of this political figure and achieve their anti-China motivated objectives.

However, those anti-China politicians in the US House of Representatives and European Parliament regard the Dalai Lama’s assertion as truth, and moreover, they advocate him as the representative of the whole Tibetan people.

As a matter of fact, the Dalai Lama only represented the interests of the three major estate-holders, who made up five percent of the total Tibetan population. Now he only represents the interests of a tiny group of Tibetans in exile and secessionists.

Some western politicians turn blind eyes to the hopes, life and property rights of some two million ordinary Tibetans living in peace and harmony with all ethnic minorities. Instead, they support the deadly riots in Lhasa staged by a tiny group of anti-Chinese mobs on March 14 last year. Since the US can put the plotters of 9.11 terrorists behind bars, why can’t China bring legal charges against the mobs who staged the deadly riot? It is evidence of the double standards of US politicians.
