Notice No.8 Opening of the 2nd Session of the 12th National People's Congress

    The 2nd Session of the 12th National People's Congress will open at 9:00am on March 5th, 2014 (Wednesday) at the Great Hall of the People (GHP). The session will hear the report on the work of the government delivered by Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council and examine the annual reports on plan and budget.

    

    Journalists shall go through security check at the south passage of the East Gate of the GHP with NPC press cards 80 minutes in advance. Journalists with press cards marked with number “2” should be seated in area No. 3, 5 and 7 on the SECOND floor, while those with number “3” should be seated on the THIRD floor. Live coverage on all floors should be stopped 5 minutes before the session. Please keep quiet after the session begins.

    

    The staff of the Press Center will start handing out the major documents of the session at the designated areas inside the GHP 60 minutes before the session. Domestic journalists and journalists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan please collect the documents in the Press Conference Hall on the north side of the first floor. Foreign journalists please collect the documents on the south side of the second floor.

    

    Journalists may conduct covering activities in the area below the steps outside the East Gate(excluding the road on the west of Tiananmen Square)before and after the session. Journalists may also interviews ministers sitting in on the session in the designated area on the east side of the North Hall of the GHP. All such covering and interviews should end 15 minutes before the session.

    

   Journalists with vehicle passes should drive into Tiananmen Square by the entrance on the road on the east of the square and park the vehicles in the designated area.
