Criminal procedure law draft amendment tabled for reading

The draft amendment to China's Criminal Procedure Law was submitted for discussion to a plenary meeting of the national legislature at its ongoing annual session Thursday.

Chinese leaders Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang attended the second plenary meeting of the Fifth Session of the 11th National People's Congress with nearly 3,000 legislators in the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.
