The two sides signed cooperation agreements such as the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the two governments. The two sides also deepened their cooperation in such areas as infrastructure, transportation and power generation, which further enriched the practical cooperation between the two countries.

Leaders of the two countries exchanged congratulatory messages for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. A number of celebration activities were held, which strengthened bilateral exchanges and cooperation in military, cultural, educational and other fields and enhanced the "paukphaw" friendship between the two peoples.
