BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Senior legislator Yan Junqi on Thursday attended a reception in Beijing celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Azerbaijan.
Yan said relations between China and Azerbaijan have achieved healthy and stable progress since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 20 years ago.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China-Azerbaijan relations have featured frequent high-level visits, strengthened political mutual trust and fruitful pragmatic cooperation, she said.
"China is willing to take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as an opportunity to further bilateral political mutual trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges and strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries," Yan said.
A launching ceremony for a photo book that commemorates the anniversary was also held during the reception.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to China Latif Gandilov, representatives from the Foreign Ministry and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries also attended the reception.
