A press conference will be held by the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in Taiwan Hall of the Great Hall of the People at 16:00 p.m. October 31, 2009 (Saturday).
Journalists from China and abroad are all welcome.
The 11th session of the 11th NPC Standing Committee scheduled from October 27 to 31 will review again the draft law on diplomatic agents and the draft amendment to the Law on State Compensation.
The Law Committee of the NPC suggests the drafts be approved through voting by this session. After the session, officials from the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be invited to answer questions from the press over the laws.
There will be no interpretation service for the press conference. Please raise questions in Chinese.
Journalists interested in the press conference may obtain invitation letters and parking permits from the Information Bureau of the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee (23 Xijiaominxiang, Xicheng District) by showing one’s own valid identification for interviewing. The deadline is 17:00 October 30.
Please show invitation letters to enter the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People for the press conference, and with the parking permits, park cars in the parking lot at the North Gate.
