A press conference will be held by the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in Taiwan Hall of the Great Hall of the People at 10:00 a.m. April 24, 2009 (Friday).
Journalists from China and abroad are all welcome.
The 8th session of the 11th NPC Standing Committee from April 20 to 24 will review the draft revised postal law and the draft amendment to the Rules of Procedure for the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
The NPC Law Committee suggests the drafts be approved through voting by this session. After the session, officials from NPC Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee and related departments of the State Council will be invited to answer questions from the press over the laws.
There will be no interpretation service for the press conference. Please raise questions in Chinese.
Journalists interested in the press conference may obtain invitation letters and parking permits from the Information Bureau of the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee (23 Xijiaominxiang, Xicheng District) by showing one’s own valid identification for interviewing. The deadline is 17:00 April 23.
Please show invitation letters to enter the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People for the press conference, and with the parking permits, park cars in the parking lot at the North Gate.
