BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Wang Chen, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met with President of the Ecuadorian National Assembly Cesar Litardo here Thursday.
Noting that Ecuador is China's comprehensive strategic partner in Latin America and next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Wang said the NPC is willing to work with Ecuador together to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen exchanges and enhance mutual trust, and promote cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative to push bilateral ties to a higher level.
Litardo expressed warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Ecuador firmly upholds the one-China policy and is willing to strengthen communications and cooperation between the two countries' legislative institutions, he said.
